I'm getting starting with an excercise routine. A guest speaker last week mentioned that 30 minutes of walking a day 5 days a week reduced the progression from pre-diabetes to diabetes by about 45%. I've always thought the excercise equipment that regulates the speed based on your heart rate was a great invention. I don't feel like spending the money on that kind of equipment at this point, as I know I almost never stick to any work out regimens. I just went to Amazon and found the Omron heart rate monitor is only $35. I will give that a try and see how it goes. I know there are more expensive monitors out there, but I'm not sure what added features they'd give me.
