phpBB SEO and Google Sitemaps and RSS feeds

Postby MD1 » Sat Jul 19, 2008 8:03 pm

The great people at phpbb-seo.com have come up with another great addition to this forum software. They have finally released a beta version of their sitemap script, which also includes RSS feeds. I've made a few modifications from the native way it is set-up, but for those who want to see how it looks, you can see the sitemap here:

and the RSS feed here:

So far the sitemaps seem to be compliant with Google sitemaps. I'm not advertising the RSS feed throughout the site though, mainly because I don't expect anyone to track it here as the traffic is very slow. If you haven't figured out yet - at this point I'm mainly using this as a website to test various scripts before I use them on my busier production sites.

As an FYI - I'm also setting up a few new websites with Drupal and testing that out. It does seem that the search engines love the Drupal formatting, but we'll see how the sites do in the long run compared to what I've been using - which is mainly xoops, wordpress, bbPress, and phpBB.
